FLM HAITI Celebrates Father's Day

North Carolina teacher Matthew Moran is the father of 8-year-old Amelia. During a trip to the amusement park Carowinds, Amelia overcame her fears of riding a roller coaster after Moran championed her to try new things. As a father, Moran aims to set a good example for Amelia, as he did in 2018 as part of FLM Haiti's education team. In Haiti, Moran shared teaching strategies (he teaches eighth-grade U.S. History) with Haitian educators and hosted a four-day soccer clinic for students (he coaches his middle school's boy's soccer team). Moran's late father and longtime FLM Haiti board member, Pastor Jim Moran, taught Moran to be a great father. "I strive every day to be like him as a father to my daughter," Moran said.
